The idea for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's first university arose naturally in response to the Kingdom's educational renaissance since its founding. In 1373 AH, Abdula ziz oversaw the first ministry of knowledge, and after the first session of the Council of Ministers, he said in a hadith, "We will soon embark on the establishment of the Saudi University, which has become a foregone conclusion, and this university will be one of the strongest roles of science and culture." It will be something befitting of our country, a beacon of faith and civilization ." On the twenty-first of Rabi' al-Akhir 1377 AH, the Kingdom's first university was created.
