The idea for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's first university arose naturally in response to the Kingdom's educational renaissance since its founding. In 1373 AH, Abdula
ziz oversaw the first ministry of knowledge, and after the first session of the Council of Ministers, he said in a hadith, "We will soon embark on the establishment of the Saudi University, which has become a foregone conclusion, and this university will be one of the strongest roles of science and culture." It will be something befitting of our country, a beacon of faith and civilization."

 

 

On the twenty-first of Rabi' al-Akhir 1377 AH, the Kingdom's first university was created. The following is the text of the royal decree that established King Saud University on the 21st of Rabi' al-Thani 1377 AH: Our kingdom and the expansion of scientific and literary study, out of a desire to keep pace with nations in the sciences and arts and to participate in their discoveries and inventions, and in the interest of reviving Islamic civilization and demonstrating its virtues, glories, and aspiration to educate young people with a good education that guarantees their future success

 

 

In terms of area, King Saud Institution is the world's second largest university, and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given to it the equivalent of 1% of the country's annual budget. This is one of the reasons for its excellence and distinction in the Kingdom, since the state's interest in it is reflected in large part in its global classification and the peculiarity of its educational service. During the reign of King Faisal bin Abdelaziz, the university's name was changed to Riyadh University. During the reign of King Khalid bin Abdelaziz, it was renamed King Saud University once more. The university began its operations by establishing the College of Arts, which was the university's first college.

 

 

 

There are various colleges on the King Saud University campus, as well as colleges beyond the university, which are split into:

The Faculty of Law and Human Sciences, the Faculty of Arts and Education, the Faculty of Applied Studies, the Faculty of Languages, and the Faculty of Physical Education are all part of the Department of Humanities Faculties.

The Faculty of Nursing, Medicine, and Dentistry, as well as the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences and Prince Sultan bin Abdelaziz College, are all part of the Department of Health
Faculties.

Colleges of Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Planning and Architecture, College of Agriculture, and College of Science are part of the Department of Scientific Colleges.

 

 

Some of the university's colleges have received worldwide accreditation from specialist bodies. The American Academic Accreditation Commission for Engineering and Technology has granted the College of Engineering accreditation. The Canadian Agricultural Commission (AIC) has granted the College of Food and Agriculture Sciences international academic accreditation for its programs. The American Commission for Academic Accreditation granted the Community College worldwide academic accreditation for all its academic programs for a maximum of six years (medical devices, computer science, human resources management, financial management, insurance business management, sales management)

 

 

 

The institution was the first in the Arab world to register patents in the United States and Europe, as well as the first to win King Abdulaziz's national medals of excellence and first degrees. A number of teachers at this university have also won major regional and international scientific honors, including the King Faisal International Prize. Several professors have filed for patents on their inventions. These types of honors and patents are among the most important aspects of a university's evaluation. A number of scientists with local and international patents are among the academic members at King Saud University.

 

 

The university has succeeded in spreading the culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its openness to other cultures, due to its interest in studying many sciences and in various departments. Outside, it is the second largest and best university in the Kingdom after Umm Al-Quora University. King Saud University is a prestigious university with a history dating back more than sixty years.

 

There is the Alwaqf program within King Saud University and it follows approximately 11 towers established to fulfill research and scientific desires, including those related to health, conference and meeting rooms, and trade, all of which include high-quality hotel services, namely: King Abdullah Tower: also called the Lighthouse of Knowledge,  Mohammed Al-Amoudi Tower: a tower of genius in construction and design, Abdul Rahman Al-Halil Tower: one of the largest university towers, 5-star tower (hotel), a tower called hotel suites, Prince Sultan Abdul Aziz Tower: a tower dedicated to research studies, and emergencies, Tower D / Nasser Al-Rasheed, Al-Muallem Bin Laden Office Tower: It is one of the university's luxurious towers.

 

 

 

The university currently owns an endowment real estate investment portfolio that exceeds one billion dollars and seeks to reach 25 billion dollars by 2040. The endowments aim to enhance the university’s own financial resources, contribute to activities that move the university to the ranks of international universities, support research, development and education activities, and support  The relationship between the university and the community, and among its objectives as well: Strengthening the university’s own resources, similar to the prestigious international universities to stimulate creativity and excellence at all levels, financing research and technical development programs to serve humanity and enhance knowledge economies to achieve sustainable development for the country, attracting, motivating and honoring researchers, creators, talented and distinguished and nurturing them, increasing the benefit  From the university’s human resources, infrastructure and equipment, to support university hospitals in treating chronic diseases.

 

 

King Saud University services extended to health and social services as well as education services of all kinds, and this is not surprising when we know that the university has set in its goals the process of comprehensive development of society, as health services are a basic process that started from these goals and resulted in the establishment of King Khalid University Hospital, this  The giant health institution in its building, its doctors and the nursing staff, all of which work in a health system comparable to the largest international hospitals because of what it contains of consultants for all diseases, doctors who have the scientific competence, and nurses who are selected according to international professional specifications.

 

 

 Statistics have indicated that King Khalid University Hospital and what it provides to serve medical students and train them at the best medical levels are no less important than what it provides to patients around the clock. There is also King Abdul Aziz University Hospital, which includes a selection of consultants, doctors and a nursing staff, whose services have been exemplary for more than 40 years, and it and King Khalid University Hospital have provided services to more than (2) million references and patients. Including performing difficult and rare operations, which led to the dispensation of traveling abroad. These services were not limited to citizens only, but extended to residents as well, and this is a health and medical pride that is referred to as an honor.
